The story from Hexa One and Hexa Three are NOT the same.
This means there are differences between the same characters from the two labs.
In the fifties, a young millionnaire decided to build a science lab. He wanted it to have the most advanced technology, and to make groundbreaking discoveries.
When the lab was built, he recruited the most brilliant scientists from all around the world and started the A.E.G.I.S, an artificial intelligence project.
In the meantime, the lab also started making research in biology. The lab got very close to creating the first ever artificial intelligence.
But one day, the owner of the lab died of mysterious causes.
The new owner, whom no one had ever heard of, decided to change drastically the way Hexa worked. She ordered a whole new lab to be built, and replaced most of the scientists.
The former scientists were very confused and mad, after all, why were they fired? It didn't make any sense! But they never got an answer.
The owner wanted the A.E.G.I.S to be completed as fast as possible, and rushed the scientists and developpers to finish it, which of course, meant the quality wasn't as high as it could be.
Some parts of the AI's developpement are still a mystery. Everyone knows some shady things happened in the lab, even if they have no concrete proof.
The only two remaining scientists from the old lab, including Doug Rattman, the former head scientist, mysteriously disappeared.
According to the owner, they got fired for "betraying" Hexa.
A.E.G.I.S got officially launched in 1985, a few months after those events. While functional, it required an extreme amount of maintenance, which is why it got deactivated around 2010.
After the launch of A.E.G.I.S, Hexa completely stopped developping AIs and instead focused on testing humans. The scientists' working conditions became increasingly worse.
Hexa Science used to be a regular lab, where scientists did research about biology and robotics. A new mainframe prototype called "A.E.G.I.S" was being developped.
After two years of development, the A.E.G.I.S was almost complete, and the lab was making great progress and discoveries.
But one day, the head scientist and testing director, Doug Rattman, mysteriously disappeared. The executives tried to explain his death, making up a new story every time they were asked.
A close friend of Doug, another scientist, also disappeared in similar circumstances not so long after.
When the A.E.G.I.S got launched, the lab changed drastically; the scientists started making more and more tests on humans, ignoring the decaying remains of Hexa's former glory.
